Dear Rog and Jan.
I contacted you back in the end of March this year regarding a suitable place to go for some sun with my wife who has never disrobed before and you wanted to know how things went if I found somewhere so here it is, our first nude experience.
After having spoken to you both I searched the internet for a suitable venue for my wife and I to try out a week’s holiday attempting to get my bum burned! My wife had never been naked in public before, I had albeit only for a few hours here and there but I enjoyed the experience and wanted more, especially to have my wife with me as well.
We decided on Gran Canaria and after sifting through the many hotels we settled on Seaside Sandy Beach, Playa del Ingles. It has four stars, 256 rooms, a smallish pool and was only 6 minutes walk from the beach. What was nice was an area near the roof which was dedicated to naturists and had sun lounges, mats and a shower to use to cool you down and believe me we really needed it!
The following day after our arrival we spent the morning round the pool then headed off to the beach which was soft golden sands which went on as far as the eye could see. Even though it wasn't fully into the tourist season there were a lot of people enjoying themselves in the rather cold sea!
The signed nudist area is situated approximately one kilometre along the beach, away from prying eyes of young children and the chiding remarks of ignorant adults. There are fenced areas housing sun loungers and parasols if required but many people did their own thing with either a towel or some type of wind break which to be fair was also required as this island, like the others in the Canaries, is quite windy at times.
Once we found a suitable spot I dropped my clothes to the floor and felt the hot sun penetrating my skin, I stood there for a few minutes feeling smug and at home amongst the throng of people already naked and turning a golden roasted colour as they relaxed as nature intended.
My wife began to slowly disrobe, obviously feeling nervous at her first venture in to the naturist scene but with my encouraging words she finally removed the last piece of clothing and stood there beside me with a nervous grin on her face.
As we settled down and chatted she admitted it hadn't been as bad as she first thought, I was right, apparently, (A first for me I can tell you!), there were many more people of our er 'tender years' than there were nubile wenches and hunky guys surrounding us.
We spent the rest of the day there but didn't venture too far from the wind-break then returned to our hotel for food and entertainment.
The next day we did the same as before but this time my wife wanted to walk along the beach and go swimming which I of course agreed on even though the water was so cold and I swear I saw a monkey with a welder in his hands!
The day after we tried the naturist area close to the top of the hotel. It was very hot but the breeze and the shower kept us cool enough to enjoy the day. The area was clean and tidy, like the rest of the hotel and never full by any means which gave my wife more confidence to strip off even though she suddenly realised that the other people would meet her later at meal times or at the evening's entertainment!
After a week of this we returned home looking brown as berries and a wide smile across our faces. My wife has now agreed to a more intimate naturist holiday at a privately run villa where we would more than likely be naked all or most of the time.
I hope that our experience will be of some help to anyone considering trying naturism for the first time, no one could have been more nervous than my wife but she ended up enjoying it immensely.
Sandy Beach hotel is a great hotel with a great location, great food and great Trip Advisor reviews so if anyone is considering Gran Canaria for a holiday they cannot fail to enjoy this hotel for their stay.
Thanks again for your info prior to our holiday.
Best wishes, Pete and Lesley Osborne.
