Swanlake Bay near Manorbier, Tenby, Pembrokeshire

by George

Swanlake is certainly not an official naturist beach and is predominantly used by "textiles". However, both groups coexist very happily together. This, I believe, is how things should be everywhere.

The bay is best approached from East Moor Farm where the owners have provided limited car parking with an "honesty box" for nominal charges. There follows a ten minute walk down to the beach, with a short scramble down at the end. The beach is relatively isolated, but is overlooked by the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path which crosses behind the bay.

The naturists tend to scatter themselves randomly, but they encounter little or no hassle. Bolder naturists will stroll from their "pitches" down to the sea. On less crowded days it is possible to walk the whole length of the beach completely naked while the textiles remain below the rear of the bay. I think the place is fabulous, if only because of its "live and let live" attitudes. Ideal for first timers.

Excellent beach
by: Nick

I use the beach as often as possible, it’s the best beach in Pembrokeshire by far. You do get a lot of textiles using the beach I haven’t encountered any problems. You can always find a suitable spot for the day.

Swanlake Bay Beach - 2019
by: Anonymous

Visited the beach this week, still as wonderful as ever. Very quiet with only one other naturist there.
No parking at both East Moor and West Moor farms any more, best to continue along road to Manorbier beach side of 'Atlantic View' house and park on side of the road.

Lovely

Visited here last week. Parked in the field 'beach car park' although I wasn't sure if I was in the right field as there were no other cars despite signs saying the beach car park was open (signs point you so far then run out). Would have been happy to pay but didn't see an honesty box anywhere. Perhaps because the ink was wearing off the signs.

I went to the right side of the beach away from the other bathers as no one else was naked. Spent a glorious afternoon sunbathing and swimming. No one bothered me at any stage, although I was definitely spotted by people arriving or leaving. At one point everyone else had left so I took a delightful walk from one end of the beach to the other, along the shoreline.

My first public nudity was a wonderful experience on this beach.

Just got back from Tenby. Swanlake Bay is a terrific beach for naturism being very quiet. It is slightly overlooked by the coastpath which doesn't bother me or the walkers apparently.

There is now parking again at the farm, simply take the sharp left turn after Jameston then first right into the farm and pay the £3 honesty box on the gate.

No Parking at the farm
by: Anonymous

Drove up to the farm and there is definitely NO PARKING there now. The previous owner died in 2009 and the new owner seems to be renovating the place.

Swanlake Bay

Visited this week on a glorious sunny day which changed my outlook on this beach, it looked and felt terrific. Only two other naturists on the beach at the time and three or four textiles, with the usual passing walkers on the coast path, no problems.

Swan Lake
by: Anonymous

Can any one tell me is Swan Lake is still a Naturist Beach....also wondering if any one has been to the Tything Barn of late...

I recently spent a few Days at Freshwater West which does appear to be a mixed beach with textiles and non textile. The area to the right of the beach amongst the rocks is the better part of the beach...August 2011

Swanlake Beach and Marloes Sands
by: Anonymous

I spent some hours at Swanlake yesterday and was not certain of its status as a Naturist beach, so covered up when there were other people nearby.

It is an excellent beach and there was only one other naturist at the far end near the rocks. It is a pleasant walk along the Coast Path from Manobier but should not be tackled by any one who is not 100% mobile as it is very steep and could be slippery in wet weather.

Marloes Sands near Dale is a huge expanse of unpopulated sand at low tide and naturism is fine. A better beach would be difficult to imagine but it disappears at high tide so care is involved.
