The stunning Villa Dias is situated in grounds of two acres, with amazing views of the surrounding countryside down to the nearby coast.
If it is seclusion you are looking for, then you have just found it. It is reached by a two minute drive on a dirt track and is totally private.
Despite its perceived remoteness, it is just a few minutes drive away from the village of Spartia, with mini markets and tavernas and is in the Livathos region of southern Kefalonia.
The villa is conveniently located within easy reach of lovely sandy beaches. It is just a twenty minute drive from Argostoli, the island’s capital, and the airport.
The impressive front entrance of Villa Dias leads into the open plan living area. This consists of a lounge and dining area both of which have patio doors with fabulous views across the Livathos Region and the Ionian Sea.
The lounge has a television, dvd and stereo unit and many books. There is seating for eight in the dining area which leads out onto one of the patios.
This area leads to the kitchen which has all the necessary facilities including a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, oven and hob, washing machine, breakfast bar, plus many of the other utilities.
Villa Dias consists of four air conditioned bedrooms, all of which have ensuite shower and toilet facilities.
Three of the bedrooms are situated in an inner hallway which is reached by a few steps leading from the lounge. These are two twin bedrooms and a double bedroom.
The double has patio doors onto a terrace which has wonderful views to the sea.
The master double bedroom is reached by a second staircase, also leading from the lounge. This also has patio doors which lead to a wonderfully private sun terrace.
Outside is the large patio from the lounge and dining area which is ideally furnished for dining outside.
From here, steps lead down to a wonderful infiniti swimming pool with sunbathing terrace and incredible views.
There is a barbecue area for those balmy Greek evenings, or possibly a lunchtime followed by a lazy afternoon by the pool.
To cap it all, why not have a sun downer in the Jacuzzi which is in one corner of the pool.
Should you wish to explore Kefalonia, you are surrounded by beauty. Apart from the many beaches, which are boasted to be some of the best in Greece, there are many other attractions.
Mount Ainos is one of the highest mountains of the Ionian Islands and rises to 1640 feet. This is surrounded by National Park and has many wonderful walks.
Here, within the pine forests, you may well come across wild ponies, golden eagles, osprey and other protected species.
There is a wealth of history on Kefalonia. Roman tombs have recently been uncovered in Fiscardo, where you can also relax by the beautiful harbour. There are many other pretty little fishing villages to visit.
There are two castles on the island with one, just south of Argostoli, dating back to 394 AD.
The cuisine of Kefalonia is typical of the Mediterranean and Ionian cuisine and includes meat, fishes, fruits, vegetables.
There are many options for eating out in Kefalonia. There are luxurious restaurants, traditional Greek taverns and “mezedopolia”, as well as restaurants of international cuisine, Italian, Indian, and Chinese.
However, maybe you would prefer to buy your meat or fish at one of the local markets and return to the barbecue waiting for you at Villa Dias, together with a glass or two of Robola, the local Greek white wine.
Why not do both?
Whatever your idea of a relaxing holiday may be, you can be assured that Kefalonia and Villa Dias will provide it for you.
